What We Offer

An education at St Joseph’s Primary will give your child the best opportunity to become creative contributors, innovators and problem solvers for a changing world.

Our wonderful learning community is growing fast as more local families seek to share the many educational opportunities available here at St Joseph’s Primary Schofields.

With the rapid growth in the Schofields area, demand for places in the early years of school means the school will soon grow to become a four-stream primary school, ensuring that families in the Schofields area who are seeking the highest quality Catholic education for their children will have that opportunity.

Educational Excellence

Educational and personal excellence

In partnership with parents and carers, St Joseph's promotes educational and personal excellence. We nurture our students as they grow as whole persons. Students are academically challenged and are encouraged to have a love of learning. We have established various support programs and sporting opportunities to assist students in their development.

RE

Integrating religious education

At St Joseph’s, Catholic values underpin all areas of the curriculum and school life so that students are supported as they grow in their own self-belief. Religious Education is integrated within our learning and teaching practices so that students come to know Jesus and our Catholic tradition. This includes participating in and hosting Mass, prayer, and liturgical celebrations throughout the year. We also work closely with our parish and pastors at Mary Immaculate Church in Quakers Hill. Sacramental programs for the preparation of students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation are conducted in our parish.

Learning-Spaces

Innovative learning spaces in a welcoming environment

Students at St Joseph’s learn and play in a beautiful, safe and semi-rural environment. We are fortunate to have such a pleasant place for learning. We take pride in our grounds and facilities, and all students have a responsibility to take care of them. Our facilities include:

  • modern air-conditioned classrooms
  • a number of contemporary and flexible learning spaces
  • a library and resource centre
  • spacious, green play areas
  • 21st century technology and resources
  • a recycled water initiative, providing water for school ovals, gardens and toilets.

An education at St Joseph's Primary, Schofields gives our students a great start to their schooling.

Extra

Pursuing Passions

At St Joseph's we believe that students should be encouraged to express themselves outside the classroom through academic, extracurricular and sporting opportunities which are supported by committed staff who believe in the importance of educating the whole person. These include:

  • Chess and Games Club
  • CAPTIVATE choir and strings Program
  • Talent shows
  • Guitar Club
  • Dance Fever
  • Makerspace
  • Drama Club
  • School discos
  • Book Week activities
  • Voice of Youth
  • Premier’s Reading Challenge
  • Sacramental programs
  • Representative sport
  • Gymnastics program

Respect

Initiatives to promote respect and responsibility

St Joseph’s, as a Catholic primary school, is a place of belonging, respect, hope, justice, celebration and a place of quality learning and teaching. Relationships are based on the dignity of the whole person and provide witness to gospel values as a means of living daily life. These values are central to both the Parramatta Diocesan's and the school’s pastoral care policies.

Students are encouraged to lead various whole-school events and be actively involved in decision making. A buddy system provides a safety network for the infant students so they have an older student as a role model.

The school also rewards students for not only academic achievement, but for those who show compassion and respect to others and a commitment to promoting gospel values.

Community

Strong partnerships between home and school

St Joseph’s is a family-friendly school. We believe that partnerships are best achieved through mutual and respectful communication, consultation and collaboration between family, school and the parish. As parents are the primary educators of their children in faith and life, we work in partnership with parents to provide the most holistic education program for our students. We invite parents to take an active part in St Joseph’s Primary School in many ways. As a volunteer, parents/carers can help in the playground, classroom, sports and the library to enhance the teaching and learning program. Parents may be able to assist with reading, the gross motor skill program, creative events, coaching sporting teams and providing valuable assistance in the library.

For further information about joining our community or about the enrolment process, please contact the school office on 8869 8100 or send us an email today.
