Today we were represented at the Voice of Youth Cluster Final by Sophia and Dianne. We saw five schools and ten different speakers... with amazing and diverse topics! Congratulations to Sophia on being awarded the Social Justice Award and Dianne who was named the overall winner (and will progress to the next level). Well done girls! A SUPER proud moment for our school!
Each year the Year 6 students are invited to prepare and present a speech for Voice of Youth. This is an event that schools in different clusters across the Parramatta Diocese compete against each other presenting speeches on different topics.
Mrs Studans and I had the pleasure last week of listening to 7 speeches that were shortlisted across Year 6.
After much deliberation, Sophia Ling, Diane Palma and Isaac Beecroft (reserve) were the finalists that were selected to represent our school at John XXIII Primary.
I would like to congratulate each of the students that entered and presented their speeches, but especially Diane Palma who came first in our cluster and Sophia who won the Social Justice award with her speech. We wish Diane well as she goes on to represent our school again as she competes against the cluster winners.
