You would have received my note yesterday about the amazing changes to come for our school. We will have three Kinder classes for next year and possibly 3 for Year 1 and Year 2. We need to plan for the future so that our caring Catholic community school grows gracefully.
Coming home next week will be a survey that gives you a chance to give your ideas in advance of a more formal process that I expect will begin before the end of the year. I think it’s important to have your voice before we enter the early planning stages for the expansion.
One thing I know is that we all want to keep is the green playing areas for the children. We are fortunate to have such a large open space to play on and the children are playing soccer, netball, basketball and touch football every day with the occasional winter cricket game. Our Stage 3 girls played very enthusiastically on their gala day, winning 2 games, drawing one game and losing 2 games. Gala days help to develop school spirit and gives skills and confidence. It was good to see so many Stage 3 girls playing soccer on the playground today, no doubt because of the fun had at the Gala day. We are fortunate to have the teachers who willingly give their time so that the children have these sporting opportunities. Planning is now underway for our Sports Carnival at the new, closer location at Peel Reserve. We are looking forward to a good day- hopefully not too cold!
